DOMINION MUSEUM.

[Per Prkss Association.] WELLINGTON, January 28. At the onening of the annual meeting of the'New Zealand' Institute, the Hon G. W. Russell said ho realised that great importance attached to the development of scientific research in the Dominion. One of the failures in this respect was due to a large extent to the insignificant part taken in scientific work by the Dominion Museum. He had, when previously Minister, had plans' prepared for the erection of buildings to servo as a museum and' art gallery on the presentsite, but the scheme abandoned. Trie would endeavour to get the Government to approve of that scheme and have a, start made with the erection of the buildings.
