NEWSPAPERS V. BILL-BOARDS AND STREET CARS.

H. T. Conner, prominently identified with the retail shoe trade of Baltimore and Indiana, has had considerable experience with various forms of advertising. In speaking of these experiences Mr Conner said: "We had an electric sign near and within direct view of the best corner in Indianapolis. The sign cost a rental of 90dol a month, but we were never able to trace any sale to this medium. "I have just cancelled six painted display boards in Baltimore. I hardly believe we can trace lOOciol worth of business to these boards, while they cost approximately 29'Vklol. "I don't think that car advertising is even worth talking about. Wo advertised a sale and it was a joke. I later advertised in the newspapers ana sold my short lines." Newspaper advertising, Mr Conner said, is easily the best and most effective medium, as well as least expensive in the long run.
