NAVY LEAGUE'S ARRANGEMENTS.

On Thureday the Navy League will erect flag poles facing Cathedral Square, on. which will be displaced •Nelson's famous signal, and wreaths will bo placed there in memory of the seamen who fell in that battle and of those of Britain and her Allies who have fallen in the present war., In the afternoon the senior scholars of the•: public schools will be entertained at His Majesty's and the King's Theatres, it having been found impossible to obtain th-s Colosseum.. Friday will be celebrated as flag day, when flag badges will be sold in aid of Lord Charles Beresford's fund for naval hospitals and hospital and to provide additional warm clothing and comforts tfor the men of the Fleet who now have to face another winter blockade, after having already been fourteen months at sea. Twenty thousand flag badgss have been prepared, and these will ba sold from 8.30 m the morning until nine o'clock in the evening. There will also be a stall in Cathedral Square for the sale of larger flag; and picture postcards, some of which have been reproduced from actual photographs of H.M.S. New Zoaland steaming into action at 25 knots off Heligoland, when tho Blucher was sunk. "Mr Spondulix " will be on view from 12 to 2, but he will not mako his presence known, unless he is asked if he is the gentleman by someone who lias purchased a badge. Tn the evening an open air concert will be given from the balcony ol Warner's Hotel, when the Chrastchurch Quartet, the Savage Club and leading soloists will contribute items. The Christchureh Tramways Brass Band will also turn out in full strength and play selections.
