MINISTERS' ASSOCIATION.
MONTHLY MEETING. The members of the local Ministers' Association were entertained for their monthly meeting on Monday afternoon at the residence of the Rev S. Lawry, St Albans. There was a good attendance, over which the Rev H. E. Bellhouse presided. it was resolved to send a vigorous protest to the Minister of Internal Affairs against his proposal to organise a notional art union, and to express the hope that it-would not be carried into effect. '.-._■ Preliminary r.rrangements were made for a united intercession service to b-> held in Trinity Congregational Church. The Rev H. Johnson will preside and the Rev J. H. Long, of the Y.M.C.A., Hyderabad, India, will give an address. The 1W t. Howard Smith, of the London Missionary Society. Pekjn, war, introduced by the chairman. Mr Smith, who has spent nearly twenty years in China, gave a very interesting address, dealing chiefly with the gieat change witnessed there durdng recent years. The speaker answered numerous questions and was accorded a hoartv vote of thanks. The Rev W; J. 'Williams invited the ai/Spciation .to Sumner for their next meeting and tho Rev J. Cocker was asked to give an address on the lift-* and work of •" Bully " Sunday. Afternoon tea was provided by Mr and Miv Lawry, who were accorded a vote of .thanks.. . - '
