MOERAKI'S TRANSHIPMENTS. The Union Steam Ship Company's intercolonial liner Moeraki, which is due in Lyttelton to-day from Sydney, has transhipments on board ex the steamers Sonoma, Hrtacho Maru, Knight Templar, Orsova, Mongolia and Socotra, the following being the principal lines: —Eight cases electric irons, 10 packages preserves, 22 bales hemp, 1 case cocoaimt, I case liquor, 10 cases arrowroot, 18 packages tea,, 62 sacks rice, 18 bags hides, 2 oases cyanide, potassium. 40 cases I»Vet sugar; 13 bags stearin*, 17 3acks grape seed, 21 cases food. 28 bundles cane, 30 casks vinegar, 68 casks bottles, 153 cases soap, 1 barrel cocoanut oil, 44 cases fruit, 19 cases pines, 550 bags «alt, large quantity of drugs, silk goods and sundries. The Moeraki will go on to Dunedin for overhaul, her running being taken by the Mokoia, which has just completed extensive alterations.

STEAMER SOLD FOUR TIMES IN EIGHT MONTHS. As an example of the great increase in the prices' of vessels it may be mentioned that the steamer Aker, 298-1 tons gross, 1839 tons net, 5300 tons dead-weight, built at Stockton in 1899, was sold in May last year, according to the " Bergens Tidenrte," for £14,500, again hi August for £IB,OOO, and in November for about £20,000. It is now reported that she has again recently changed hands for the fourth time for about £25,000 for deliver;, - ! during January.

NEW HUDDART-PARK.EB STEAMER, • The steel screw steamer Hebburn has been launched by the Blyth Shipbuilding and Dry Docks Company, Ltd. This steamer, which measures 370 ft by 51ft by 27ft Sin, moulded, has been built to the order of Messrs Huddart, Parker, Ltd., Melbourne. She has been constructed under special survey for Lloyd's highest class, and is of the singledeck typo, with poop, bridge and topgallant forecastle. The vessel lias been specially designed for the Australian coal trade. The Hfbbnm is rigged as a four-moated schooner, each mast being complete with the latest oquipment for quick and economical working of cargo. A special feature of the Hebburn will bo the deck machinery, comprising thirteen steam winches and two friction winches, powerful steam windlass and steam steeringgear. A complete electric light installation will bo carried out. '
