SWINDLER IN UNIFORM.

William Evans was sentenced to six months' imprisonment at Newcastle. It appears that Evans, wearing a British officer's uniform and two rows of ribbons, obtained a cheque book and' gave a valueless cheque. The accused claimed that he was entitled to wear the uniform.
