METHODIST CHOIR UNION.

ANNUAL MEETING

Tho Christchurch Methodist Chqir Union held its annual meeting on Saturday in the Durham Street School. The Mayor (Mr H. Holland) presided over an attendance of one hundred and eighty persons. Tho secretary (Mr W. Younger) reported a very successful year’s work. The report and baianeo-shcet, which were adopted, showed a credit balance of ovor £3O, which was considered verysatisfactory. There were 265 names on the rolls, representing fourteen choirs, and the prospects of the coming year were very bright. . It was unanimously resolved that the six members now serving with tho New Zealand' Expeditionary Forces should be made honorary members.

The election, of officers resulted as follows: —President, Rev 8. Lawry; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Holland, G. Scott and J. 0. Prudhoe; conductor, Mr Ernest Firth, F.R.C.0.; organist, Mr Whittingharu; secretary, Mr W. Younger; assistant secretary, Mr Rawlins ton; treasurer, Mr H. J. Down; auditor, Mr A. M. Owen: librarian, Mr J. Tresise; committee, Messrs Daltry, Jones, W. J. Spratt, Bennett, Ray and Saikold. After the business was concluded, musical items were given by Misses Twos©, Duff, Spratt and Koy, and Mr O. M. Jones.
