STOKEHOLE TROUBLES.
KOMATA'S FIREMEN REFUSE DUTY. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, February 20. The steamer Komata's departure for Westport was delayed yesterday owing to trouble with her firemen. Later. The vessel was for several months employed as an Admiralty collier and carried an extra man in the stokehold to meet unusual conditions. On arrival hero several firemen asked for discharges, and others were engaged for the trip to Westport. The jote.pany, however, vevertcil to the original complement provided by law. The firemen refused duty unlessthe extra man were replaced. The head office at Dunedin is being consulted. Meantime the Komaia remains idle.
