SEMI-FINALS CONCLUDED

LINWOOD AND SYDENHAM A TO

PLAY OFF

Tli'i last day's play in the semi-fina's of the Canterbury Cricket Association's district competitions was favoured with fine weather on Saturday. The matches . were started at 1.30 p.m. to make up for time lost on the first day owing to rain, but it had been decided to play both matches to a first innings conclusion, even if they had to be finished during the week. ' This made the games all the more strenuous, for there was uo need to force the pace as far as batting was concerned. As the result of the day's play Limvood heat St Albans and Sydenham A beat East Christr church. The following arc details of the games:— SEMI-FINALS.

LINWOOD v. ST ALBANS. Linwood, playing St Albans at Hagley Park, were' in an enviable position on the first day with 834 for six wickets,, and by increasing this to 412 they practically settled the match. The St Albans score totalled 207. This left Linwdod the winners on the first innings, but they weut in again for practice, and were dismissed for 110. Following are the. scores:—
