SIR R. L. LUCAS-TOOTH. By Tslsgnpb—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, February 20. The death of Sir R. L. Lucas-Tooth, from heart failure, is announced. (Sir R. L. Lucas-Tooth, who was born in 1844, represented Monaco in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly during two Parliaments. Ho returned to Britain in 1889, and was p prominent figure in Anglo-colonial circles. He was chairman of tho London Board of the Bank of New South iyales.)

For twenty years he devoted himself to the cause of education among his Mahratta countrymen by serving as a professor in a Poona college- on nominal pay. He was actively identified With the National Congress movement, and was the representative of non-offi-cial members of the Bombay Legislature «k the Viceroy's Legislative Council.)
