ST ANDREW’S v. ST PETER’S. A match between St Andrew’s and St Peter’s (Upper Riccarton) Tennis Clubs was played on the former c.lib’s courts on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in a win for St Andrew’s by five games. At tho conclusion of tho congest, Air George Buftcu, on behalf of the St Peter’s Club, thanked the opposing team for tho enjoyable afternoon spent oh the courts, and extended a hearty invitation to play a return match at Upper Riccarton at an early date. The Rev J. M’Kcnzic, president of the St Andrew’s Club, in reply, expressed tho pleasure it had given his club to emertiun a church club of another denomination. SUMNER CROQUET AND TENNIS CLUB. The Tennis Committeo of the Sumner Croquet and Tennis Club met on Fndav eveninr- present-Mr C A. Ferguson (m the chair), Mrs Lavic Afiss Wiggins and Messrs E. A. Johnson and W. Tait. It was deemed to hold a Yankee tournament, to be plajeu in grades according to entries. 11 resc'vcd that a progressive tournament should be held on Labnir Day, and e Juujor handl- - during October. It was decided that the opening of the season should take place, next Saturday.
