LAWN TENNIS.

NEW BRIGHTON CLUB. The annual meeting of members of the New Brighton Lawn Tennis Club was heid in the schoolroom on Thursday evening. The president of tho club (Mr K. C. Bishop) occupied the ohair, and there waa a largo attendance of members. The report of the special committee appointed to consider the question of laying down an additional court and to consider also the matter of increased accommodation to the pavilion, water supply and conveniences, was adopted. The annual report and balanoo-shcet were adopted. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Rev H. Id. Mathias; president Mr R. C. Bishop;' vice-presidents, Messrs G. W. Russell, M.P., G. Jackson J. A. Flesher, C. H. Winny, G. W. Staniland, J. Checkley, C. H. Opie, T. Bullock and Cao nin A. W. Owles; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Browning; management committee, Mrs Lockwood, Misses Patrick and Clark, and Messrs G. TV. Bishop W G. Lockwood, C. Butler and F. C. Snratthonorary auditor, Mr Charles H. Franks; delegate to Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, Mr RBrowning. The opening of the season was fixed for Saturday, October 10. The question of entering teams for tho Association’s inter-club matches was referred to tho management committee for careful consideration. \ Captain A. W.
