SCHOOL COMMITTEES ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE.

A meeting of the executive of the North Canterbury School Committees' Association was held at the East Christchurch School on Tuesday evening, and in the absence of the president (Mr .1. Biitterfield) Mr F. G. Coombes occupied the chair. A letter was received from residents of Hawarden regarding a. school in the district. It was decided that further inquiries should be made in connection with the site adjoining the saleyards in the Hawarden township. Mr C. V. Harvey reported on a deputation that had waited upon the Redcliffs School Committee the previous evening, and had urged it to affiliate with the Association. It was decided to draw up a circular and send it to the various school committees, urging their support to the Association in the interest of education in general. The treasurer presented the balancesheet that was held over from the annual meeting, subject to audit. The auditors having signed it, it "was dulypassed. It was agreed to invite a deputation from the Teachers' Institute to the general meeting next month to deal with a slight misunderstanding that had arisen over a report in the daily newspapers.
