SPREYDON DRAIN.
TO THE EDITOR. g; r —ln your issue of to-day there appears a letter from Mr Tnglis in reference to the state of No. 2 drain, Sprevdon. I have lived within ono and a half chains of this drain for the past three years, and can bear out the statements made in the letter referred to. The drain in its present state is a public nuisance, and a serious menace to tho health of the residents in the immediate neighbourhood. Unless some steps are taken by the controlling Authority to deal with the matter before t!» hot summer months arrive the evil and the danger will be considerably intensified. I trust that other residents along the route of this open drain will voice their opinions on the question. We take this neglect of our interests by the Drainage Board far too quietly. I am, etc., M. HITCHEN. Spreydon, September 19.
