DAMAGES AGAINST MOTORCYCLIST.
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 22. Reserved judgment was given by Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., to-day in the civil action in which Samuel Strahan, of Nairn Street, claimed £B4 6s from George Bradley, motor mechanic, of Lower Hutt, on January 8 last. The claim was made as the result of an accident, the defendant, who was riding a motor-bicycle, colliding with the plaintiff, with serious results. The Slaintiff alleged negligence, and the lagistrate hold that such an action had been proved. Mi- Riddell had visited tho scene of the accident, and he commented on the conflict of evidence. He could not accept the defendant’s evidence as to the speed of the motorbicycle, and was satisfied that he must have driven recklessly. If the plaintiff was to blame in the least it was merely that he had committed a slight error of judgment. Judgment was given for the plaintiff for £B3 6s, which included £SO special damages.
