THE SUMMIT HOAD.
MOTORISTS’ PRACTICAL HELP. ’ ) WIDENING TO KENNEDY’S BUSH. Mr H. G. Ell, M.P.j waited on the Automobile Association last night and asked it to assist in making the road from Dyer’s Pass to Kennedy’s Bush practicable for motor traffic. He stated that tho work already done in the widening of the track through Victoria Park to the top of the hill could never have been accomplished but for the help of the Automobile Association. His present proposal was to widen and grade the road up to Kennedy’s Bush, which would make a splendid "drive for motorists. In reply to a question whether there was any chance of motoring being prohibited on the road, Mr Ell said that he did not think it likely, and he would strenuously oppose any such prohibition. Mr F. W Johnston said that he had noted with pleasure that a member of the Heathcote County Council had proposed to abnlirii all the CnunciK IvI avs referring to motor traffic, and the people generally were becoming more reasonable in regard to the traffic. Tt was decided to make a grant of £25, subject to a Government subsidy of £ for £.
