KENNEDY’S BUSH.

SCENIC BOARD’S ANNUAL REPORT. Tho annual meeting of the Kennedy’s Bush Scenic Board was held on Monday. There were present—Tho Commissioner of Crown Lands (in tho chair), and Messrs Booth, Harper and The annual report showed that during tho year tho area of the reserve was increased by (59 acres 2 roods 9 perches, which had been partly paid tor. This had brought tho reserve out to the sharp bend of the road round Nancy’s Knoll. An area of 29 acres between the bush and Hoon Hay reserve also having been purchased, both reserves were now linked together. An agreement had been entered into for tho erection of a stone cottage and outbuildings, which had been offered by Messrs J. and W. Jameson. The cottage had been built, and out of nineteen applications Mr and Mrs Potter had been selected for the position of caretakers. Mr Ell reported generally on the state of the house and surroundings, and tho patronage already being bestowed upon it by the public. Ho considered that the complete success of the venture was assured. 'the balance-sheet showed a credit of £32 Os Gd. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr Ell reported that it had been found necessary to have a storeroom erected and he lmd received contributions in the way of materials from the following Messrs AV. Goss, J. T. Brown and Son, J. AValler, Ltd., Stevens and Co., Ltd., R. AV. England and Sons, Ltd., and Taylor and Oakley. These offers allowed ot a storeroom 10ft by 9ft being erected and the work would bo done by the caretaker. The Board expressed its satisfaction and it was resolved to send a letter of thanks to the donors.
