Japanese diplomacy in China is being remodelled owing to the weakened condition of China and the great energy displayed by the Powers in scrambling for concessions.
The “ Daily Telegraph’s ” correspondent 6ays that though Count Okuma’s suggestion that England and Japan should commercially ally themselves throughout China undoubtedly has certain unpractical features, the hour has sounded when the scope of the Far Eastern alliance should be carefully investigated by the contracting parties, and all possibilities of a doubtful future considered.
