MAIL NOTICES.

Letter mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations:— Hails per express to Dunedin and eouth close daily- at 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.; late fee, i.e.. letters bearing Id additional stamp, 11.15 a.m.; also mail van up to 8 a.m. and guard’s van 11.55 a.m. train. Books and new*paper, 7 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. TUESDAY, JUNE 2. For Northern Ports, per Wahine, at 6.15 p.m.; late fe3 letters, 6.45 p.m.; guard’s van, 7.40 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3. For Fiji, Honolulu, Canada, United States, etc. (due Vancouver 23rd June), also United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via Vancouver (due London 6th July), per Maori to connect with Makura, at 0 a.m.; guard’s van, 7.40 p.m. train. Money orders, 4 p.m.; registered articles, 8 p.m. Tuesday; books, packets and newspapers, 8 a.m. Wednesday. For United Kingdom, via Monte Video and Teneriffe. per Maori, to connect with Buahine, at 9 a.m.; guard’s van, 7.40 p.m. train. THURSDAY, JUNE 4. For Australian States, etc. (due Sydney 9th June), India, China, Ceyion, Japan, Hong Kong, Straits Settlements, South Africa, New Guinea, etc., also United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, etc (due London 12th July), via Naples, per Wahine, to connect wth Moeraki, at 6.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 6.45 p.m.; guard’3 van, 7.40 p.m. train. Money orders, 4 p.m.; registered articles, 4.15 p.m.; books, packets and newspapers, 5.45 p.m.

POST OFFICE HOLIDAY. JUNE 3 (KING’S BIKTHDAY.) A close holiday will be observed at all Post Offices. The usual despatch of mails will be mado up to 9 a.m. A counter delivery of all correspondence will be made between 7.30 and 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 2nd June.

Mails for Australian States, etc., close at Auckland, per Niagara, at 3.45 p.m., and at Bluff, per Maitai, at 4 p.m. to-day. Mails for Rarotonga and Tahiti close at Auckland, per Talune, at 8.45 a.m. to-day. Mails despatched from London on April 24, via Brindisi, will arrive in Christchurch as follows:—Letters, via Auckland ,at 8 a.m., newspapers, via Bluff at 7.45 p.m. on June 2.
