WILLS OF MACFARLANE BROTHERS.

His Honor Air Justice .Denniston has granted probate of the wills of the late Mr David Duncan Macfarlane and Mr Walter Macfarlane, tiro well-known Canterbury runliolders, who died a short time ago.

Mr D. D. Alaefarlane’s estate was Lyndon, Waiau, and Mr W. Aiacfarlane's was Kaiwarra, Culverdon. In ootii cases, tno values of the estates have been sworn at under £130,000. The actual valuation lor stamp duty purposes has not yet been made by the Stamp Department, all the accounts not having been dealt with.

Mr I). i). Maciarlnnc lias left- his widow an annuity of £IOOO. which will be reduced to £SOO if she ' marries again. She also will have tlio use of the Lyndon homestead as long as she is a widow, the property to be maintained out of the general funds in the hands of the trustees, namely, Mrs Macfarlane, Mr G. L. Rutherford, of Waikari, and Mr G. Fulton, of Rotherham- Most of the rest of the estate is left to children and grand-children, although annuities are given to employees, in accordance with their length of service. The trustees are empowered to sub-divide and cut up the property if they feel that that is desirable.

Air AY. Macfarlane has left the homestead and other property to his widow, and the rest of the estate to his children.
