MR WHEELER’S OPERATIONS

Hill, of Bnuthbndge, and his Waihuna herd, which has been: kept up to a high standard.-is now well known> ink all parts of the AVest Coast, .aryd in V many other districts in the dominion, d During his present visit to Christ- ~r church, Mr Wheeler spent, a day on \ Mr H. E. B. Watson’s estate, Meadoy- ii bank, at-Tai Tnpu, and selected a ' young Jersey hull, a son of Lord Twylish, an-imported champion from- the ■; Chirnside herd, Victoria. At. Mea- - dmvbank, Mr -Wheeler saw a new milk- \Vt ing machine in operation, and was so - it impressed with its capabilities that he .jj , ordered one in Christchurch. He will. have it sent to Roto Manu.. in. order s - ( to cope with the work of the comingseason. Mr. Wheeler has given spepial •, .*; attention to the rearing .of purebred .<f Berkshire pigs on his farm, and 'in. this respect also he has been very successful. Some, time ago 'Mr J. Rowe, a AJ noted breeder of Berkshires, visited Mr AVh color's farm, and later on stated to a reporter from a West Coast journal that nobody on that side of the Southern Alps' needed to cross the range to obtain good pigs, as .the besk. • specimens available could be found on - A the AVaihuna farm.
