ATHLETIC.

CHRISTCHURCH ATHLETIC CLUB. A meeting of the Christchurch Athletic Club was held on Wednesday evening, Mr F. A. Hornibrook presiding over an attendance of thirty-two members. It was decided to hold the next sports meeting at the Choral Hall on Saturday, Juno 13, the proceeds to bo given in aid of the Summit Road Association's funds. A report of the last concert showed that it had been successful, and that £l2 would be donated towards the cost of sending a tug-of-war team to Dunedin. . TUG-OP-WAR MEETING. For the tug-of-war meeting, to be held in Dunedin next month, twentyfour entries have been received, including the Auckland Police, a team from Westland, and Speight's Brewery, the champion team. The Canterbury team •selected is as follows:—A. Thorpe 15st 71b, E. Bui-rough 15st 41b, J. Fingland 14st 101 b, W. T. Johnston 14st, L. Atkimm ISzi, Sib, J. £Yy Wbfc 311* & Price 12st 2lb.
