MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association met' yesterday; present —Messrs W. F. Parkinson (chairman), 11. E. Peryman, J Stevenson, E. E. Alexander, C. B. Ensor. W- Hayward, J. Deans, A. Chamberlain, A. I/. Joseph, M. Murphy, W. T. Robinson, H. P. Mnr-mv-Avnsley, B. Seth-Smith, W. 7*. Stewart. H. E. B. Watson. J. John?, K. M'tntosh, R. W. Lochhead, W. Henderson. W. Cunningham, '.'\ M'Milhin, H. Little and T. C. With, :L The chairman referred to the .l:w.; sustained bv tho Association through the death of tho late Mr Walter Macfnrlano, who was for five years a member of the committee. - A motion c? condolence with the relatives of the deceased was carried, members standing. The Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association wrote, forwarding a copv of a resolution of condolence upon the'death af the late Mr D. D. Macfarlanc.
Mr M. Murphy was re-elected the Association's representative upon the Board of Governors of the Christchurch Technical College. Mr Chamberlain said that he desired to bring before tho mooting the fact that he had been charged 8s by the Railway Department for feed for two cattle ho sent to the Otago Agricultural aud Pastoral Association's show, in addition to very heavy railage charges. He thought tho Department 1 should give better inducement to ex-' hibitoi'B than that. He sent a quaa-
tity of feed in the same truck with the cattle.
Afer some discussion it was decided that Messrs Chamberlain, Robinson and M'Millan should wait upon the Traffic Manager to get further information on the subject. Mr "W. B. Cunningham was Appointed a member of the Parade Committee, and Mr A. L. Joseph a member of the Panama-Pacific Exposition Committee. Accounts amounting to £234 13s were passed for payment. . The following life members were elected :—Mesdames B. E. Knight, "W. P. Parkinson and F. H. Pyne, Misses Gladys Knight, Noma Knight, N. B. Knight, M. N. Grigs, C. N. Grigg, A. B. Chamberlain and L. J. Chamberlain, and Messrs L. W. W. Moore, A. F. Giles, A. P. Boyle, J. H. Grigg, G. H. GrigK. A. N. Grigs:, T. Skevington, C. Macintosh, T. Bullock, W. Andrew, J. Knight, G. G. Harper and N. O'D. Alexander. Mr F. J. Prampton was elected an annual member.
