THE NAPIER. FIRE. TOTAL DAMAGE NEARLY £30,000. [Per Press Association.] NAPIER, May 12. It is estimated that the total damage caused by last night’s fire will amount to a sum of between £27,000 and £30,000, but exact details are not available. Williams and Kettle’s total loss reaches approximately £16,500, which includes £ISOO for damage by water. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s loss is estimated to reach £7OOO on the building and plant. The_ following are the insurances on the New Zealand Shipping, Company’s loss:—Atlas, £650; Northern Office, £500; Alliance, £500; Royal Exchange (which also carried a large cover on other owners’ stock stored in the building) £500; North British and Mercantile, £500; United, £1640. The Atlas Company also held £1250 risk on De Pelichet and M’Leod’s stock, and the South British £BOO. F. M. Bourke’s loss was covered by £3600, but the office is unknown. S.
