ADDINGTON METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

The Addington Methodist Sunday School yesterday celebrated its jubilee. The proceedings opened with a tea for the children. An after meeting was then held, at which the annual report was read. The Rev S. Griffith presided.

■ The secretary,' Mr H. K. Bowden, in presenting his annual report, said that the teachers had much to be grateful for in their success during the year. This year there had been eight- male teachers and fifteen female teachers. One hundred and one boys had attended the school, and one hundred and twenty-five girls. The average attendance had been one hundred and fifty-seven. During the year the teachers had gone to considerable trouble in introducing the graded lessons system of teaching, and the new method gave every promise of being a success. The Sunday school examination had resulted as follows: —Gold medals (grade C), Spencer Clarke; gold medals (grade E), Percy Brooker; prizes (grade B), Jeannie Hetherington; prizes (grade C), Lilian Brooker; certificates (grade B), Dorothy West, Ivy Wilson and Ivy Griffiths; certificates (grade C), Gilbert Johnston, Ella West arid Eric Gay. The annual treat, had been held on New Year's Day at Mr G. Scott's residence, Opawa. The Bible class and infants' class each reported excellent progressThe report was adopted. The reports of the deaconess, Junior Endeavour Society, Worshiping Children's League and the homo and foreign missions showed splendid results. During the evening the children sang numerous hymns, and the Rev W. ASinclair and Mr G. T. Booth delivered addresses.
