ST MARTINS BURGESSES’ ASSOCIATION.

The St Martins Burgesses’ Association met on l Monday evening, the president. Air J. Longton, being, in the. chair.. Mr Longton reported that in roplv to tho Association’s request, the Heathcote County Council was ploughing and forming Heathcote StVeet and was also attending to the \ T alley roads. Tho general manager of the Tramways promised a report on electric lighting matters for the consideration of the Lighting Committee, and the secretary was instructed to write to Mr Birks regarding information for the supply of the current from tho Government. It was reported that the tramway line would probably be completed by the end of the present month and a committee was set up to make arrangements for a function to be held on the opening day. The secretary was instructed to make application to the Postmaster-General for a slot, telephone .to bo installed at the corner of Wilson s Road and Pamblin’s Road ill the St Martins district. A resolution was passed regretting that the work in connection with AVilsou’s bridgo bad not been carried out in a satisfactory manner. The secretary was instructed to communicate with tho Heathcote County Council regarding the matter and to request that an expert examination of tho bridge should be made.

Mr JF. 8. Howell, who is leaving for England shortly, was granted six months’ leavo of absence.
