A shooting mishap occurred yesteix day. James Neil was bench loading at Parker’s' flaxmill when ho was struck down by a bullet from a pea-rifle.' The bullet came from across the river, pass, ed through a canvas partition, and struck Neil in the back near the left shoulder. He was taken to the hospital and is now in a serious condition. Later in the day the police arrested two boys named Frederick Neilsen and William Attwood, each about sixteen years of age, on a charge of shooting Neil. It is stated that theywere firing a pea-rifle at a can on a post, and one shot missed the can and struck Neil. On the application of the police the boys were remanded for a week. Neil is aged thirty-five and has a wife and four children.
