A blow-out in tho front wheel caused the car to swerve across the road. A heavy gale was blowing and the car turned a complete somersault. Mr P. Toomey and Mr J. M'Gill, of Waikouaiti, sustained concussion, and Mr W. Ainge, of Stono.burn, was slightly hurt. Tho police received advice from Palmerston to-day that Jemima Wright, seven years of age, died as the result of injuries caused ■through her clothes catching fire while she was sotting some rubbish alight.
