HANMER'S BATHS.

TO THB XDITOS. Sir, —I was recommended to 30 to Hanmer if I wanted a nice laay spell with plenty of bathing in the swimming pool. I had three or four dtps, and was enjoying my holiday well, hut when one morning I went to get my ticket and towel I was confronted by a notice stating that the swimming pools were closed till further notice. Hero was a pretty go. Several.others besides myself came here for, the. express purpose of enjoying the luxury of hot swimming and bathing, and peo-. pie are coming every day, to see chat : notice staring them in the face. There are two swimming pools at Hanmer, one for the ladies and one for gentlemen. Now, in the name of common sense, why could not the person in charge close one bath at a time and set apart certain hours for ladies and certain hours for gentlemen, instead of depriving us all of the very pastima we came for? We all know that tha baths have to be cleaned, but why they cannot be cleaned and refilled in less than a week beats me.- Such; mismanagement will not pay, as many visitors besides myself are cutting their stay short in consequence.—l am, etc, *S.G.
