The ploughed track, on which all tho work was performed, was in good order for time-making, and with the assistance of a light northerly wind some fast -gallops were record,sd. Vice-Admiral .and'Allegory, separately, negotiated a couplo -of circuits at half and three-quarter pacing. Kilts and tho Orzil—Dyronia colt ran half a mile in 60 2-5 sec, and Hormia a similar distance in 61sec. Blue Lake (Emerson) dashed over halt a mile in 48 3-ssec, . going vory pleasingly, while Ofcligant (W. Young) ran threo furlongs m 38 2-Sscc. Mira (Berry) registered an attraotivo performance by brushing over six furlongs In Imfn. 16 1-Sser, while Troon ran a similar distanco comfortably in Imin 21s.ee. King’s Favourite spurted five furlongs in lmin 7sec, and Masterpiece and Autumnus ran tho last half-mil© of a steady circuit in 64 l-osso. Ceylon opurted four furlongs in 50 l-sscc, and Mowbray and Martel finished strongly over the last threo furlongs ci a, steady circuit. Merrivonia oompassed too circuits, brushing over tho last half-mile in GGjjsec, and Undoe.ided (Young) galloped six furlongs in lmin 18 l-ssec. Bronze (Oliver) decisively defeated Haskayne (Bell) in a gallop over a milo, run ■ in lmin 44 4-ssec, and her effort was entire!ly pleasing. Gipsy Bello finished several lengths m front of Aratiatia at the end of a spin over five furlongs on the grass, run in lmin 4 2-Ssoc. . Styx, who was to have started with them, was badly left, and finished some distance away. Theodtoro (Emerson) galloped five, furlongs, tho last half-milo occupying 50scc. Glado put up a smart performance by running fivo furlongs in lmin 2 2-ssec. Piriwai and Mount Victoria galloped five furlongs in lmin 4sec, and Ladrono spurted half a mile in 49 3-3 sec, Peroneal registering an exactly similar performance. Bollin and Peary ran six furlongs in lmin 20sec, and Ventura (Wilson) dashed over fivo furlongs in. lmin 2 1-ssgc. Madnight Sun and Goldiinder compassed two circuits at half speed. Crown Pearl defeated Diavolo with ridiculous case over half a milo in 49sec, and the manner in which Crown Pearl finished up his task was most irnpressivo. Boctle galloped sir furlongs in lmin 17sec. There are, however, several others in tho raco that havo shown good form already, among them being Aboyr.e (winner of the Debutant Stakes). Kildnlton, Pinkerton, Chicka and Beck's Lager) while the lot that havo still to distinguish themselves include some promising juveniles.
