Before shooting herself sho prayed with two coloured maids, asking inercy on her loneliness. Johnson says tho woman was suffering from nervous attack. NEW YORK, September 13. Johnson, at the inquest on his wife, said that her nervous breakdown was duo to nursing him when ho was suffering from suicidal mania, resulting 'from injuries received in fighting Jeffries. Johnson declared, that he still was feeling the after-effects of the fight. His wife knew this, and was greatly depressed. Johnson asserts that be tried to choke himself to death on several occasions, but bis wife saved him. A verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned.
