A HEAVY SENTENCE. ' United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph—Copyright. (Received May 7, 9.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 7. Alfred. Smith was found guilty of breaking into a house at Kandwick, also shooting at Thompson, the occupier, with intent to murder. He was s9ntonced to fourteen years on the first count, and to imprisonment for life on the second count. The Jbcige remarked that lie would leave the executive to decide what the sentence meant.
