MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.

[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 6. The Hon J. A.. Ilannn, Minister of Justice and Education, left Wellington for the South to-night. He will attend banquets to Mr J. C. Thomson. M.P., at Otautau, on Wednesdav, and at Arawai on Thursday, and will be probably awa.y until next week. The Minister has promised to ouen the musical and elocutionary competitions at Christchurch on May 14, if other engagements permit.

mx. 'tt r, NELSON. May 6. The Hon G. Laurenson, Minister for Labour, inspected to-day a number of sites offered for workers' ■ homes in the city. A meeting of applicants is to be hold to ballot for the site upon which they would prefer dwellings erected. In the afternoon the Minister received several deputations on local matters, and visited tho principal factories. He was also taken round the district by motor-car and visited orchards at Stoke and Moutere. He returned to Wellington this evening.
