Bill, who murdered Blanchet, was recently arrested but released for lack of evidence. Blanchet was courting a young dressmaker lodging at Renert's house. Tho dressmaker' really informed the authorities. The police believe that a secret conclavo of anarchists at Nancy decreed that Renert should bo avenged. Blanchet was lured to a lonely part of a road. Bill fired but missed, and Blanchet fled to a tramcar. , .The conductor saw him running and signalling wildly. The car did not stop because it was not a usual halting place. Bill finally shot Blanchet. Foresters and soldiers are surrounding the forest of Hay,' where it is believed Bill is hiding.
