FIRE BRIGADE.
NEW SUPERINTENDENT APPOINTED.
Superintendent C. C. .Warner, of the Palmerston North Fire Brigade, has been appointed superintendent of the Christcfmrch Fire Brigade. Mr Warner is an Englishman, who was trained for the sea. He served for three years at the Trinity House Navigation School, Hull, England, gaining two first-class certificates of competency in navigation and nautical astronomy and one second-class certificate in the honours grade of mathematics. Mr Warner served ten years at sea, in both steam and sailing ships. In 1902 lie joined the permanent staff of tho Wellington Fire Brigade, where he remained for seven years, being drill class instructor for three years. .Mr Warner has also had experience as a driver of motor chemical fir© engines, steam fire engines and pumps, and has an extensive knowledgo of water v >pre3strr'e' fork's .jjtnd "reticulation. Three years ago" he was appointed: superintendent and secretary of tho Palmerston North Fire Brigade.
