WELLINGTON, May 3. New Zealand’s imports during the quarter ended March 31 totalled £5,517,689 in value, an increase of £940,355 compared with the corresponding period of tile previous vs dr. The imports at the principal ports were as follow:—Wellington, £1,514,358; Auckland, £1,496,711 ; Lyttelton, £877,260 ; Dunedin, £748,040 ; Invercargill, £198,404 ; Napier, £131,225 ; Timaru, £l2/ .468; Wanganui, £81,689; Poverty Bay, £52,053 ; Nelson, £43,056 ; Groymouth, £36,045. The exports during tire same period totalled £8,228,993, being £1494 less in value than those for the corresponding quarter of 1911, when specie of the value of £20,896 was sent away. Last quarter's specie export was £5400.
