PIGEON-FLYING.
Tho Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew off its anmial Juvenile Stakes -two from Nelson on Saturday. Only birds wearing 3911 rings were eligible to ■ compote. Fifty-four birds were sent, representing seventeen lofts. Tho birds wero liberated at 9.30 a.m. in dull, calm weather which caused the birds to register slow time. The winner was Mr A. Finlayson's Donnv Boon, wnicft travelled the d'istanco of 159 miles 1336 yards, air lino, in ohrs 45inin -4G?co. Tho following 1 is tho result, giving tho velocity per minute:—A. Finlayson's Bonny Doon, 818ycla per minute; E. Miles's Sunbeam, filljds; T. Kingsford's Combine, 810yds; W. Scarle s Littlo Gem. 809yds; B. Howe's Sloucher,- f(ls yds; F. Miles's Persistent, 801yds; J. Golding's Reginald, 803yds; T. Field's Victor, 802yds; W. Forme's Tourist, 801yds; B. Finnagin's Daisy G., 726yds; A. Parrel's Old Judge, G42yds.
