The Defender arrived from Hokitika, via "Westport last evening. She is expected to complete discharge of her timber to-day. and will leave for Wellington, Picton and Hokitika.

The schooner Lily left GTeymouth on Saturday with a cargo of timber for Lyttelton. Tho Kapiti is to sail to-day for Wellington and Pateo.

The Kairaki arrived yestorday morning with a consignment of sheep from Pelorus Sound, After discharge the vessel returned . to the\ northern port for a similar freight. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Bangatira, which left London on January 11 for New Zealand, via Sydney, landed her immigrants at the New South Wales port and resumed her voyage to Dunedin on Saturday, and is due to-morrow. The vessel has a large cargo to put out at the southern , port, and on completion will, come on to Lyttelton for final discharge, being due here -about the end of next week. Tho schooner Eliza Firth, whioh left Lyttelton at 6.30 a.m., on Thursday last, arrived ot Kaipara at 12.30 p.m. yesterday, tho journey having occupied only four days six hours. On discharge of her cargo of produce the vessel will load timber for Lyttelton. Tho Federal-Houlder-Shire liner Drayton Grange, which left Lyttelton on Saturday last for Wellington, and is to leave the latter port to-day for Avonmouth, took tho following cargo on board during her stay here:—For Liverpool—27 casks tallow, 1039 ‘»acks bran, 607 sacks wheat, 123 crates cheese, 14,689 carcases frozen lamb and 'mutton; for Glasgow—7B hales tow, 49/bales wool, 200 cases preserved meats, 283 sacks beef, 409 orates cheese. 4964 carcases frozen • lamb and mutton j for Avonmouth —673 crates ! butter, 8243 carcases frozen lamb and mutton, 4961 crates cheese. • TELEGRAPH NOTICE BOARD.
