PAPER-BAG COOKERY.
The Choral Hall was crowded in .all parts yesterday afternoon, when Mrs Glennen, of Melbourne, gave her second Christchurch demonstration of papei bat; cookery, There were a number of men among the audience.
•Mrs Glerinen explained in a lucid manner how to cook all sorts of dishes, Irom soups to plum puddings, and made a “boiled pudding’' in a bag. iirst wrapping in a dry cloth au<i then pouring a little water into the bag. On tho same oven shelf she baked some pastrv, and made a strong point ci the fact that by the paper bag method cooking was revolutionised. roods could be boiled and baked side by side, and there was no odour, no dirt and no cumbrous utensils when bags Mere used. Many of the audience asked questions, which the demonstrator answered, anti the quality 01 the dishes cooked was ample testimony to the succoss of the. methods employed. There was a large attendance m the Borough Council Chambers, Lyttelton, hist evening, when a demonstration cl paper bag cookery was given by Airs Glennen. The demonstrator cooked a large variety of dishes on the municipal stoves| and explained in detail the method's by n'hich one Mas able to ot>tain the best results. _ Her remarks were listened to attentively by an interested audience, and Mrs Glennen was called upon to answer a large number of questions. . . Mrs Glemien will remain m Clirictchurch for about a fortnight, aiid will hold a class for instruction in paper hag cookery at the Farmers’ Co-oper-ative rooms, where n nude range of subjects covering domestic economy will be dealt with.'
