(Received August 24, 11.40 p.m.) LONDON, August 24.
The Primate, in reply to a correspondent, said that the question was not whether the Parliament Bill should pass immediately or a few weeks hence or after the House had been flooded with new peers. He denies that the bishops’ vote is likely to promote speedy disestablishment. He believes that the exact contrary is true. It is believed that Mr Redmond Barry, K.C., member for North Tyrone, will succeed Sir Samuel Walker as Lord Chancellor of Ireland.
