In accordance with the increasing prosperity of the autumn gathering of the Victoria Racing Club, there was the biggest attendance ever recorded to-day. The., weather was warmer than at many of the spring meetings, and the racing was specially interesting. The St Le-ger Stakes and the Newmarket Handicap were run in record time, and then Corned}- King established a third record by beating Marlee’s Rnndwick record for a mile and a half by three-quarters of a second. Xovelwood showed the way past the stand from Rosemary, with Red Morn next. Round the back Xovelwood was well clear of Rosemary, but both Futurity and Buudale.ro were moving up. Haif a mile from home the four had closed up, but Xovelwood was first into the straight.
