The conference On sleeping sickness held in London resolved that the Cape to Cairo railway should be inspected for the fly Glossina palpolis, which communicates the germs of the disease; that the railway must cross the fly belt at the narrowest point to stations within the Glc&sina infected area; that it is essential that there should be clear ground on either side of the railways.
