A monthly meeting of the Kaiapoi District High School Committee hum hold on. Monday oveuLiia. The monthly meeting of the Ashburton School Committee was held on Monday evening, Mr Greenwood presiding. The. North Canterbury Education ■'Board wrote regarding 7 ihe appointment ot pupil teachers, stating that, order of, merit must. give, .precedence. A letter was received from the St' ’Stephens Church of England, trustees regarding the erection of a, dividing, fence. It was decided to.forward the letter to the Board, recommending that, tenders should ho called for the work; The headmaster’s report for the four weeks ending December 23 showed that the aver ago attendance had been' 372, and tho roll number 403 at tho Borough, and OS average, with a roll number of 100 at A Heaton. Ihe excursion, committee reported that, a special train had been arranged for the annual picnic to Tiniaru on March 2Messrs Missem and Priest were appointed- a visiting committee for the mouth.
