DOMAINS BOARD.

The Christchurch Domains Board met yesterday afternoon; present.—Messrs H. J. Beswick (chairman). G. mtty, M.P. H. *P. Murray-Aynsley, S. A. Staples, 6. Harper, J. Wolfe, G. Scott, W. H. Cooper and the Mayor (Mr C. Allison). Mr Beswick reported that the tea kiosk had been completed in the Gardens, and at'least’ 1000 persons had taken tea, in it during last week. The gardener had -been asked to look into the matter of movable screens fintables on the.verandah. It was decided To hold the 'annual inon Thursday, at 11 a.m., and to takeTunchedh in the" kiosk. The chairman -said that,-the fete-had been fixed ■ for February 9, and he thought that .people should he appointed |p collect; at, the.gates. Mr Cooper said -that The. crowd had been , ion much for the collectors, last year, and. that a lot of money had been lost through - rushes of people. Mr Beswick referred t.o the question of representation, and said that though the Waimairi County Council was a contributing.body it had no representation on the Board. It was agreed to ask Mr Harper to look info the ques-

tion, and to ask the Selwyn County Council for its annual contribution. Air Beswick also reported that Airs Way mouth had given a valuable collection of native plants to the Gardens, and on liis motion the donor was accorded a very hearty vote of thank* for her valuable srift. The head gardener reported that Messrs T. AY. 'Adams, C. E. Jones and C. A- C. Cuningham. had given plants to the Domain, and votes of thanks • were passed to them. The statement of receipts and expenditure, which rhowed a. credit of £324 18s 9d, was adopted, and accounts for £229 8s 2d were passed tor payment.
