CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association was held last evening, Mr .E. J. Ross presiding over an attendance of fifteen delegates. The Chairman stated that the main abject of the meeting was to discuss the resolutions passed by the New Zealand Association at the annual meeting in Wellington. On the motion of Mi Wright, it was decided to forward the following resolution to the New Zealand Association —"That tho Canterbury Association cannot see its wavclear to agree to the appointment of a paid secretary, nor to the scheme of representation proposed by the management committer; that the, above matters be deferred tintil after delegates from the Auckland. Otasro and Canterbury Associations have discussed the matter." A vote of thanks was passed to Jfc H. RCooke, the Auckland delegate to the New Zealand Association, for his assistance at the annual meeting. METHVEN v. WINCHMORE. The Methven Lawn Tennis Club, which was formed recently, played its first match on Wednesday afternoon, at Methven, against a team from Winchmore, the home team winning by 89 games.
