SOME FRESH APPOINTMENTS. A number of appointments were made by tho North Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board at its meeting yesterday afternoon. Two applications had been made for the position of senior house surgeon and one of those had been withdrawn. Tho Board decided to appoint- Dr P. Stanley Foster, M. 8., C1i.8., Now Zealand, to the position. Dr Foster stated that ho was house surgeon at tho Wellington Hospital, having occupied that position for fifteen months, and for the past year had supervised the consumption sanatorium and fever hospital. ... . . Forty-six applications were received for tho position of house steward, and the Hospital Committee had selected five, from which the Board made a final selection. The Board decided to appoint Mr Richard F. Williams, of Papanui, Christchurch, an associate of the Auditors’ and Accountants’ Association of New Zealand. Mr Williams was formerly a Methodist Minister. the Board mado the following appointments to tho honorary staff: — Optliaimic surgeons, Dr T. Bell and Dr J. Stevenson; pathologist. Dr M. G. Louisson; masseur, Mr F. A. Hornibrook; physicians, Drs Gerald W. Russell, J. F. Duncan and H. M’C. Inglis; surgeons, Drs Hugh T. D. Acland, P. C. Fenwick and W. Fox.
