MARKET REPORTS.

GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Sinco the lwt report the wheat market has shown additional weakness in consequence of unsatisfactory advice received from Home. Tho bulk of tho samples which are being placed on offer locally Sire badly harvest-damaged, and this description is especially weak at the present juncture owing to a very limited outlet. On tho other hand, the position of prime wheat is peculiar, and little business is being done. Holders decline to entertain present values, and buyers arc equally firm in their determination not to advance their limits. Tho value of weathered parcels has declined during the last fortnight to the extent of from Id to 2d per bushel, but in the caso of prime samples, although little business is being done, prices are unaltered.

For oats there is a fair inquiry, and parcels continue to move off coastwise, but ohiefiy in small parcels. Algerians for seed purposes are in request, and for this description prices have'a hardening tendency. The demand for Danish is very restricted, but good Gartens find ready sale at quotations. Reports from the south go to show that prices for all sorts of oats are slightly firmer at the Bluff. Potatoes are a little weaker, inasmuch as merchants are not, except in a fenexceptional cases, prepared to give more than £5 per ton.on trucks at country stations, but few holders are prepared to give beyond this figure.
