WAIMAIRI. The Waimairi' County Council met last evening; present—Messrs S. A. Staoles ('chairmaii), F. Sisson, ••• J. T\ r altor, R .W. Hawire, J. Cleland, W. P. Spencor, J. Eanuau, I. Parish and S. Bullock. The chairman renortod that a lease of offices iu the Federal Chambers had been taken for twelve months at tho rate of £65 nor annum. The action of tho chairman was approved. The engineer reported that the Church Property Trustees bad decided to widen Hill's Road subject to the approval of the Council, and he had agreed to the proposal. The engineer's action was apnroved. A letter from the Lower Riccarton Progress Association was rend, protesting against the establishment of tho Council's offices at Papanui, and urging that Christehurch was the most convenient place.
