GOLF.
Mrs Vernon, who has been captain of the Christchurch Ladies’ Golf Club for several years, has been obliged to resign from her position owing to ill-health. At a meeting of tho committee last weok, it was decided to ask Mrs Wigram to accept tho position, and she has consented to do so. It has been decided to hold the New Zealand golf championship meeting on the links of the Christchurch Club at Shirley from September 5 to September 10 this year.
