BANKS v. GOVERMENT OFFICES. The annual matches between the Banks and Government Departments were played at Hagley Park yesterday, the Civil servants winning all three games. • In the first eleven match the Civil Service team batted first, and. closed their innings with six wickets down for 201 (Dwyer 95, Mansell retired 68). Gibson took three wickets for 17, and Simmons two for 40. The Banks replied with 32 (A. Boddington 13), Martin taking six wickets for 11, and Macfa rlane four for 13. Following on, the Banks made 81 (Feldwick 23, Fade 17, Ross 15, Simmons 12 not out), and lost by an innings and 68 runs. Mansell took four wickets for 31, Reid three for 32, Martin ono for 1, and Macfarlane one for 7. The Civil Service second eleven scored 112 in their first innings (Schramm 46, Murray 27, Brooker 11, Mackenzie 10), Corson taking six wickets, lucker three and Hamilton one. The Banks team made 98 (Youngman 32, Taitt 21, Corson not out 13, Beadol 10). Schramm took seven wickets, Brooker two, and Hutchin one. In their second innings tho Government team made 12l (Schramm 61, Hutchin 24, Murray 11). Tucker took four wickets, Pattle two, Youngman, Feldwick. Corson and Taitt one each. The Banks in their second innings were dismissed for 49 (Corson 17, Taitt 11). Wiggins secured six wickets and Brooker four. The Government team won by 86 runs. The Civil Service third team won by an innings and 98 runs, scoring 148 (Nixon 36, Hay 29, Vvilliams 22, Rich 14, Cookson 12, Ro'chfort 10, Butler 10) to 34 (Denham 13) and 16. Cookson and Hay were the successful bowlers for tho Civil servants, a.nd M Kay and Denham for the Banks.
